AVG
Kenya supports education in the country
At
the beginning of June 2008 Tomáš Vejmelka, AVG Reseller
Account Manager, visited the Healthcare Center in Itibo,
Kenya and handed over the AVG donation of 500 pens for
the local primary school.
The
Healthcare Center and Maternity Hospital in Itibo is a
humanitarian project run by ADRA Czech Republic since
2006. The center provides local people with a wide range
of medical services from a simple medical treatment to
surgery operations. It is funded from the public
resources and donations.

The
AVG pens were delivered to the Matutu school, an
educational center near Itibo, by the ADRA project
leader Aleš Bárta. Stationery and writing material are
the goods that school children miss the most. The
donation was provided by the AVG Technologies s.r.o.
through the Kenyan AVG Distributor, Interactive
Technology Limited, that took care of the production and
branding.

Through
the Healthcare Center in Itibo, ADRA also provides a
humanitarian aid to the refugee camp in Ekerenyo, which
was established by Kenyan government during the
post-election violence in January 2008. Most of the
temporary inhabitants were driven out of their homes and
their houses were burnt down. There are currently about
2000 people living in the camp, 600 of them are
children, mainly orphans. To cheer the children up the
teddy bears from private donations were distributed
among them.
